You need to drain the radiator, remove the right engine mount, take the serpentine belt off (if this is a V6 3.0) the water pump will be in the center of the block remove and replace with new one, make sure the gasket (o-ring) is in the correct position before mounting... Reinstall in reverse...
Less than a half hour.
the thermostat should have the long part facing down
it may blow cold air due to the fact that the heat anticipator on your thermostat may be set to long. you can change useing your owners manual for your thermostat but you should have a service tech do it
Thermostat is in the housing under the left coil in the housing connected to the radiator hose. Takes about 30 minutes, if that long, to change.
I am prettysure you can change the motor as long as the body structure is the same and you have skill in this sort of thing.
The spring should be towards the motor. A very few are not round and have to be in the correct position which is obvious. As long as the plate in the middle of the thermostat is round, it can be in any position.
Saturn is 120,536km around the equator long
I am not familiar with the Audi, but on most cars, the thermostat is at the point where the top hose leaves the engine to go to the radiator. A bad thermostat can make your car overheat. If it has not been changed since 1992 it should have been changed long ago.
The best way to change the belt on a '92 Saturn is to remove the front passenger wheel and then remove the plastic wheel well to gain access to the belt tensioner. Use a long ratchet to hold the tensioner while you remove the belt from one of the pulleys. Then you should be able to pull the belt all the way out.
Depends on the vehicle, could be 1 to 5 hours.

follow the return hose at the top of radiator to the engine, the hose connects directly to the thermostat. when u get to the thermostat, u need a ratchet with a long extention. try not to drop bolts in engine
