Pandas only have one cub at a time. If twins are born, most often the weaker cub will die, as the mother will choose to feed and nurture the stronger.

Over its lifetime, a female panda can have 5-8 cubs (in the wild).

A panda will usually have one cub, but sometimes they have two. However, when the mother panda has two cubs it will only look after one of them and will abandon the other.
