To start off, one must restate the question to fully understand the cost of a degree from a community college. Rather, one can ask how much is it per credit for a class at a community college? In general, community colleges can be anywhere from 50-200 dollars per credit; many tend to be around 75 dollars. So to graduate from a community college, it takes around 60 hours of classes. 75 times 60 equals 4,500.

The calculation was made by taking a rough guess of 75 dollars per credit hour and taking into account that classes are normally three credits. If one takes five classes, which is the average, that is 15 credits. With associates degrees taking two years with thirty hours each year, I arrived at 60 hours.
