Phil and Malcolm eventually had a falling out and he was sacked. Phil reutned to the band a few years later after he and Mal settled their differences. Chris Slade left only because the boys wanted to work with Phil again.

Slade is a much better showman than Phil Rudd. Why did acdc not stay with Chris Slade?

AC/DC opted not to continue with Chris Slade after his initial stint because they wanted to return to their classic sound, which they felt was best represented by drummer Phil Rudd. Rudd's playing style and musical chemistry with the band aligned more closely with their iconic rock sound. Additionally, Rudd's long-standing history with the band and his familiarity with their songwriting contributed to their decision to bring him back. Ultimately, it was a matter of artistic direction and the band's desire to maintain their signature identity.
