August 4, 2009 By MATTHEW CHAYES matthew.chayes@newsday.com A driver who witnesses say was "speeding and driving erratically" was killed Tuesday afternoon in a one-car accident on the westbound Southern State Parkway in Nassau, state police said. The unidentified victim's 2005 Toyota Camry went off the road at 2 p.m. and hit a tree on the north shoulder just east of Exit 29 in North Wantagh, police said. The impact killed the lone male occupant, whose name is being withheld pending notification of his family, police said. The westbound lanes were closed west of Exit 30. The state Department of Transportation estimated those lanes would be closed for about four hours. Paul Villalta passed away Tuesday and will be waked tomorrow, August 7th at: Powell Funeral Home
