∙ 14y agoIt makes the children unable to learn for a short time afterwards (thus defeating the purpose), inflicts mental and physical trauma on the student, and can be overused or overenforced by extra 'zealous' teachers.

∙ 12y agocorporal punishment should be enforced mostly by the parents. corporal punishment usually only works up to a certain age. in reality, small children only understand the here and now, which means that if you do something wrong it results in pain, which is understandable to the child. considering that a child's brain is not fully developed, you CAN NOT reason with a child. it's like trying to reason with a dog. if a parent doesn't like the idea of spanking their children or allowing others to, then they are opening the door for their children to walk all over them and they are in for a long, hard road ahead of them.
