The original drummer for Avenged Sevenfold (James Sullivan A.K.A The Rev) has passed away. Using pre- written drum parts, Avenged Sevenfold recorded the album "Nightmare" with Mike Portnoy. Portnoy also toured with Sevenfold in 2010 but left after that tour to work on a solo project. the ex-Confide drummer Arin Ilejay is now touring with sevenfold for the 'Nightmare After Christmas Tour'Their original drummer was The Rev. After his death, they had a temporary replacement, which was Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater. Their current (and permanent) drummer is Arin Ilejay.
