Almost all Anglicans believe she was a virgin when she conceived and bore Jesus. SOURCE -- Book of Common Prayer states that Nicene Creed is a statement of the faith. In the Nicene Creed it answered one question. What is the question?

The main question the Nicene Creed answered was whether Jesus was God. It was written in response to the Arian controversy in 325AD. The creed clearly states that Jesus is "God from God, Light from Light, True God from True God."

Why is the nicene creed a key teaching in the catholic church?

The purpose of creeds in any religion is to help define what a person or group believes. The problem with them is that if they are taken the wrong way, they can distance you from Goid rather than getting you closer to him. Case in point are the Pharisees and religious leaders of Jesus' day. When questions or challenges come up against the Bible or doctrine, then creeds can help define what you believe. For instance, The Apostles Creed.

What did the Nicene Creed say about God and Jesus?

The Nicene Creed contains the Church's decision that God and Jesus are of "one substance" and states that the Holy Spirit "proceeds from the Father." A later western Church addition, not accepted by the Orthodox Churches, adds to this "and the Son" - the filioque clause.

Did Jesus survive the resurrection?

All Christian bodies that accept the "Nicene creed" would believe that: "by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary and became man, ... crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again [in bodily form] ... he ascended into heaven ...[ in bodily fom ]. As stated in the creed, yes, we believe that Jesus did survive the resurrection.

How would you describe the doctrine of God as three persons in Trinity as it is contained in the Nicene Creed?

The way The Nicene Creed describes God is wrong because if God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit were one being how could Jesus have reserected him self three days after he was hung on the torter stake? He could not have so the Trinity Doctrine has been and always will be proved false

Is mormanism a form of Christianity?

Yes. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) are Christian but are not Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant Christians. They believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer, They worship Him, they read the Bible and try to follow it's teachings, but they do not believe in the creeds (Apostle's Creed, Nicene Creed, etc) that other Christians adhere to. You can learn more about Mormon beliefs at the "Related Link" below.

How are the Apostles' Creed and Nicene Creed similar to yet different from each other?

They are very similar. In fact, the Nicene creed is essentially a lengthened version of the Apostles' creed containing everything that the Apostles' creed has in it. There is only one exception where the Apostles' creed has new information: the Apostles' creed states that Jesus descended into the dead before rising in three days whereas the Nicene creed does not mention the descending of Jesus into the dead. Both creeds are used in Masses said around the world as an acceptable prayer that occurs after the Homily at the start of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. It is up to the local Bishop's preference. In the United States, the Nicene creed is used most typically. The Apostles' creed is typically used when saying a Rosary.

Which part of the nicene creed is important?

All of it. The most crucial is that you understand that Jesus is the Son of God and salvation comes through faith in him and declaring He is the Son of God.
