I think it depends on the person and who in love you were with the person if it was a really good relationship then probably but if not, not so much.
But as it's your first breakup usually a bit more depressing than future ones.

∙ 14y ago- Yes, it is very common for a person that has just broken up with someone they cared about to get depressed. It's a sort of grieving process very similar to grieving for a loved one that has passed away. You had memories with this person; may still love them and it is difficult to let go of a person you love. You will feel sad for awhile; then wonder what you did wrong (probably nothing and some people just fall out of love with another); then you mull over almost ever second of your relationship or listen to some of the favorite songs you both listened too; cry, but eventually things will become crystal clear to you and you may even get a little angry about the break up and this is when you get up, dust yourself off and get moving by going out with friends and having some fun and get back into dating again. There is someone very special out there waiting for you.
