The body in length is longer than the height. The breed has small erect ears and also a large head compared to the body. The face resembles a bear because of its dark muzzle. The Akita and Chow breed are fairly medium to large breeds which ranges from 40 lb to 100 lb depending on which breed is more dominant. This hybrid breed is also very intelligent and comprehends commands and tricks within minutes. Although this breed makes a great guard dog and companion, it is not recommended for inexperienced owners.
I rescued one from the animal shelter and I did not need to potty train her whatsoever. She's also very observant and responds to my emotions by performing tricks.

No breed is mean. The dog reflects the training and care provided by the owner. The chow is an affectionate and loyal breed and can be reserved with strangers. Once the chow knows a stranger is not a threat they are friendly and sociable. I have a Chow/Shepherd mix (picture on bio page) an he is very outgoing and happy to greet people.

What is a chow mix?
Anytime both parents are not from the same breed the resulting pups are mixed. This means if one parent is chow chow and the other is anything else, the pups are mixed. To call a dog a chow mix would intend that the animal was breed from a chow chow on at least one side, although many are actually from a long line of mixed.
