Some would say that he planned it (and they are quite likely correct).
Al Capone orchestrated the St. Valentine's Day Massacre
Al Capone was the most likely suspect.
Al Capone was a famous gangster and mob boss who operated out of Chicago. He was famous for being behind the St. Valentines Day Massacre, and for having his own lavish cell at Alcatraz prison.
Al Capone made it be known that he was at his winter home in Florida, during the actual shooting. Although 1000 miles away, insiders knew he was responsible for the massacre that occured on Feb. 14, 1928.
Al Capone.
The St. Valentines Day Massacre was the deadly result of a power struggle for control of Chicago's organized crime. The battle between Bugs Moran and Al Capone finally came to a head on February 14, 1929.
Al Capone managed (occasionally by the skin of his teeth) to avoid any of the massacres that reduced the gangster population on a regular basis back in the days of the big gangs (during Prohibition, for the most part). His name is connected to the St. Valentines Day massacre, but only around the edges. It was likely Capone's idea, but he did not plan it, nor execute it - in fact he conveniently was in Florida the day it took place.

Al Capone.
Perhaps it was his brazen contempt for prohibition. It could have been the St. Valentines Day Massacre. It helped that he played the role of a modern day Robin Hood with his support for Soup Kitchens.
no one really knows why it happend but i can tell u it was sort of an epidemic just alot shorter like kristlenaught or the holocaust Some people think it happened because one of Al Capone's men got killed and blamed it on Bugs Moran's gang.
Al Capone was considered to be the leading suspect.
