Love waves and Rayleigh waves are surface waves
raleigh waves aree this and love waves are that i do not know:)
P-waves are Primary waves initially released from the Focus of an earthquake. A P-wave is a longitudinal wave or a compression wave with the force applied in the direction that the wave is travelling. These waves compress and expand and are called primary waves because they are the first waves to reach the seismometer.S-waves are secondary waves that vibrate in a transversedirection (from side and side as well as up and down). S-waves are not able to travel through liquids unlike P-waves.P and S-waves are known collectively as body waves because they travel within materials.Surface waves on the other hand travel along the outer surface of a material and are split into two main types, the Love wave and the Rayleigh wave.Surface waves cause high amplitude motions of the Earth's surface and are the most damaging to buildings.
P= PressureS= SurfaceL= Rollingthe 3 main types of earthquakes- they go in order from less to more damaging. The below is from SCI 3 (science text book) and if your talking about earthquake waves:P waves are Primary waves and come firstS waves are secondary waves and come secondP and S waves goes through the earthL waves are Love waves and comes lastR waves are Rayleigh waves and comes thirdL and R waves travel on the surface
Rock under stress breaks at the focus, releasing energy and vibrations called seismic waves, which travel away from the focus, through Earth's interior, and across the surface. The three types of seismic waves are: Primary waves: The first to arrive at seismographs Secondary waves: The second to arrive at seismographs Surface waves: The last and most severe to arrive at seismographs

Love waves and Rayleigh waves are surface waves
Love waves and Rayleigh waves are both guided waves. Love waves occur in a thin plate, while Rayleigh waves are a combination of transverse and longitudinal waves on the surface of a half-space.
Love waves are a type of seismic wave known (along with Rayleigh waves) as surface waves. These cause horizontal shearing of the ground. They are named after A.E.H. Love, a British mathematician who created a mathematical model of the waves in 1911. They are slightly slower than Rayleigh waves.

P-waves, S-waves and surface waves (Love and Rayleigh waves).
Surface waves
The Love and Rayleigh waves (collectively known as surface waves) are the slowest moving but most damaging of the seismic waves.
technically any seismic wave can destroy a building, but the one most likely to do it are the surface waves
The surface waves (composed in turn of the Rayleigh and Love waves) are the slowest seismic waves.
There are actually two types of surface waves: Love waves and Rayleigh waves. In both cases they are named for the people who predicted their existence. In the case of Love waves this was British mathematician Augustus Edward Hough Love.
Yes it's true. They are: Primary waves Secondary waves Rayleigh waves Love waves.
