I love this question. And it could have been asked by a 10 year old for all I know and it would still have the same value. I'm not being sarcastic. It's a Wonderful question. If you don't understand that then well then we're just not on the same wavelength. Not to mean that I'm on a better one than you, just a different one. Or perhaps you just don't understand how I see the question as being honest. Let me explain
My answer to the question would be no. You're not a dream because I am self aware and I can think about you and the things around me. I've had this problem in dreams before where I knew I was dreaming. I would ask the people around me or rather tell them that they weren't real that they were just a figment of my imagination. But they would argue back with me and tell me that I was crazy. So really my answer only has as much meaning as you're willing to trust me or to believe that I'm not a figment of your imagination or I'm just part of your drain. It all comes down to whether I'm self-aware or not but you know that you are. That's the most important thing.
But then that begs the question. Am I a dream? LOL and on we go
That can become a philosophical debate...
