If by 'acid group' you mean a carboxyl group (COOH), and by 'methyl group' you mean the carbon is right at the end, then it isn't really a methyl group, just a normal carboxylic acid

  • 2 carbons: Ethanoic Acid, CH3COOH
  • 3 carbons: Propanoic Acid, CH3CH2COOH

If the methyl group was in the middle. The number of carbons here includes the methyl group, but note the name of the chemical doesn't correspond to the total number, but by the longest chain possible.

  • 4 carbons: 2-Methylpropanoic Acid, CH3CH(CH3)COOH
  • 5 carbons:
    • 2-Methylbutanoic Acid, CH3CH2CH(CH3)COOH
    • 3-Methylbutanoic Acid, CH3CH(CH3)CH2COOH

A chain of carbons with hydrogens attached is called a hydrocarbon. They provide the basic structure for a great many other organic compounds such as alcohols and fatty acids.

Going way out on a limb from that vague description, I'm going to guess "fatty acid".

Sounds like a fatty acid.

What are alpha hydrogen how you can identify acidic hydrogen in a compound?

In organic chemistry, alpha hydrogen is attached to the carbon next to the functional group, for example, all the hydrogens on the carbon in CH3OH are alpha-H. We can identify acidic hydrogen by noting all those hydrogens which are either attached to an electronegative atom or any other atom which has a partial positive charge and thus starts pulling the bond electrons.
