Organization development is important, because it will eventually save a company both money and time. Organizational change is painful at first, but it can help promote growth as well as to improve work processes.
Organization structure draws and displays how organization operates and performs its functions through allocation of responsibilities for different functions and processes to different entities. It is the organization structure that defines the reporting and decision making hierarchy of an organization and how project management operates within it. An organization can be structured in many different ways and styles, depending on their types, objectives and functions. Organization structure can be functional style, divisional (multidivisional) style, project team style, or matrix style. A financial goal of any organization is profitability which means how much returns an organization gain on its investments.
Standardized documents remove ambiguity and confusion. They help business following the same processes with every customer without any regard for who the process is affecting. They do this so they can their business practices are fair and just.
Non-core business processes are activities that supply no competitive advantage and are less likely to do serious harm to the company in the short term if poorly performed, though they are still important. They are those, which are not essential, defining activities of the organization (Core activities) or ones that do not place an organization at a competitive disadvantage or create a risk (Critical but non-core activities). Examples are cleaning and security.

An approach to managing change that was not mentioned in the readings for this unit is the Capability Maturity Model. The model consists of five steps that build upon one another. The steps are "evolutionary stages in which an organization manages its processes" (ValueBasedManagment, 2008). The five stages are as follows: 1. Initial (processes are chaotic, or actually few processes are defined....much like brainstorming) 2. Repeatable (basic processes are established and there is a level of discipline to stick to these processes) 3. Defined (all processes are defined, documented, standardized and integrated into each other) 4. Managed (processes are measured by collecting detailed data on the processes and their quality) 5. Optimizing (continuous process improvement is adopted and in place by quantitative feedback and from piloting new ideas ands technologies) This model paralles the models presented in the readings for unit 5; however, I think it is a bit more general than most models we learned about. Yes, second language acquisition is fundamentally different from first language acquisition. In first language acquisition, children acquire language naturally and effortlessly through exposure and interaction with their environment. In second language acquisition, however, learners are consciously and intentionally acquiring a new language, often in an instructional setting, which involves different cognitive processes and strategies.
Although QA and testing has gained its market but still QA takes a back seat in many organizations. Organizations do have testing teams to get their product tested for better quality product but formal processes are not followed/introduced from QA perspective. For effective testing results, it's very important to introduce new QA processes. To achieve this, we first need to analyze the processes best suited for our organization. Then implement the required processes in couple of teams in the organization for few days and if it is feasible to follow them, processes are implemented throughout the organization. In addition to formal processes for QA teams to follow, organizations can also organize trainings for QA from time to time.
Management, employees and effective business processes are the backbones to a successful organization. There are other factors that contribute to an organization's success as well.
