1st stanza: She's laying in a tomb and there is someone beside her...in the next grave.
2nd stanza: "fail" is a metaphor for death. He died for truth and she for beauty.
3rd stanza: The "Kinsmen" is a companion. They talked to each other until the moss reached their lips meaning they were no longer able to converse. And the moss covered up their names meaning once dead, they would be forgotten.
Dickinson is very comfortable with the idea of death. To her, it wasn't a scary idea because to live, one must die.
