Side scan sonar uses sonar to map the the ground below by emitting continuous sonar pulses while moving. The sound continuously reflects back to the system's receiver, which creates an image based on the energy of the signal received, where darker points in the image match things protruding from the ground and lighter spots indicate where there is nothing. It does not measure the depth. Side scan sonar is usually towed behind the vessel using it. Multibeam sonar is similar to side scan sonar, except that it is attached to the vessel (rather than being towed) and measures the time difference between sound emission and reception, rather than the energy of the incoming sound waves. Thus, it measures depth instead of making a picture.

Yes all that is true. I've to say that there are some other hardwares, connected to computers, which help much more to this field such as Ultrasound, CT scan, X ray machine etc. Computers help in manufacturing medicine (tablets, capsules etc) too. ------------------------------------------ Physicians can use computers to research diseases, treatments, and symptoms. They can use them to help a patient find a particular specialist if one they need isn't available where they live. They can use them to record the medical history of patients and keep track of progress or increasing problems.
Airbags were first used by the public in vehicles. The MRI scan was invented. The NY Knicks were the NBA champs. UCLA won the NCAA Basketball Championships. Miami Dolphins won the SuperBowl (VII). Hope this helped :)
I believe it should be written "Council member". The term "Security Council" is always capitalized, and as Council is just a contraction of that, it should remain capitalized. However, on a quick scan of the UN website, the 'member' is not capitalized. However, "Council Member" is probably acceptable.

Raster scan, or raster scanning: is the pattern of image detection and reconstruction in television, and is the pattern of image storage and transmission used in most computer image systems. The word raster comes from the Latin word for a rake, as the pattern left by a rake resembles the parallel lines of a scanning raster. Picture element: In a raster scan, an image is cut up into successive samples called pixels, or picture elements, along scan lines. Each scan line can be transmitted as it is read from the detector, as in television systems, or can be stored as a row of pixel values in an array in a computer system. On a television receiver or computer monitor, the scan line is turned back to a line across an image, in the same order. After each scan line, the position of the scan line is advanced, typically downward across the image in a process known as vertical scanning, and a next scan line is detected, transmitted, stored, retrieved, or displayed. This ordering of pixels by rows is known as raster order, or raster scan order.

raster scan display -based on television technology.where as random scan display based on hard copy devices.raster scan display cannot directly pass electron beam through the scan line..but random scan directed the beam toward the scan line.
