After a bit of digging - It's apparently Ciprofloxacin. It has a number of uses in the medical field - see relate link for Wikipedia's entry.
An oblong tablet imprinted with "CR 500" is generally 500mg ciprofloxacin hydrochloride, used in the treatment of sinusitis, bladder infection, and other bacterial infections. Commonly called "Cipro," it is an antibiotic in the class fluoroquinolones.
