i believe that ants live underground because they are safe from preditors, than when they are on the ground.

I believe that ants live underground because they are safe from the rain and that they have to protect the queen ant and to eat food ants live like humans they get food eat it protect they master most of the stuff they do are realistic to the things human do ants have to stay underground to stay alive that's what i believe.

Yes they do. If you've ever seen a ant farm you can see their work. The top layer we see is called a ant hill/mound. The bottom layer is the nest where the ants sleep, eat, mate, and socialize. The are rooms on the inside of the nest:

*The queen's room.

*The larva's room.

*The the workers room.

Their mainpredators live above ground and most of what they eat is underground. Forming anthills is easier with dirt because it is looser. Living under ground protects them from the weather.
