There are five main regions in Virginia: the Piedmont, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Valley and Ridge, the Appalachian Plateau, and the Coastal Plain. Each region has its own unique geography, climate, and natural resources.
The three main plains in Ohio are the Central Lowlands, which cover much of the central and northern parts of the state; the Appalachian Plateau, located in the southeastern region; and the Great Lakes Plain in the northernmost area along Lake Erie. These plains contribute to Ohio's diverse geography, featuring varying elevations, landforms, and ecosystems. The Central Lowlands are characterized by fertile agricultural lands, while the Appalachian Plateau includes rugged terrain with forests and hills.
