Did not materialize or were not categorized as riots ( I can recall a Dragnet coverage of anti-riot precautions taken by LAPD in response to the King assasination. No riot erupted in L.A. at this time, fingers were, no pun intended, crossed. ( My dad never used this phrase as he thought it was making fun of the Praying Hands!)
