"Powerful" is a subjective term. The .22 is more powerful than some cartridges, but less powerful than others. A .22 is (generally considered to be) underpowered for self defense, but it has plenty of power for small game hunting.
Dozens of calibers from .22 up through major hunting calibers.
.22 to 450 Marlin
22" for all calibers
Winchester made many rifle models chambered in several .22 calibers.
The Eclipse came in 3 different calibers. .177@925 FPS - .22@710 FPS - .25@620 FPS. It was mfg between 1990 & 1996
The model 1890 Winchester was only chambered in .22 short,22long,22 long rifle,or 22WRF calibers which were all rimfire calibers.
Well, friend, small bore calibers are typically those under .22 inches in diameter, such as .17 HMR, .22 LR, and .22 WMR. These calibers are often used for target shooting, plinking, and hunting small game. Remember, no matter the size of the bore, what's important is enjoying the art of shooting and appreciating the beauty of nature around you.
22-250, 220 Swift, 243, 6mm Rem, 25-06, 308. Other versions of the 77 were in MANY other calibers.
Both calibers have alot power but the 7mm is more powerful due to the fact that the bullets of the 7mm are in a higher grain than the .308. The 7mm also has a much higher recoil than the 308 and even the 30-06, both calibers have a high standard of performance but its no question the 7mm remington is more powerful
It's difficult to answer what is "average." Pistol bullets can be as small as .17 caliber (although not common) and as large as .950 caliber (also very uncommon). The most common semi-auto handgun calibers are .22, 9mm, .40 (depending on where you are) and .45. The most common revolver calibers are .22, 38, 357, and .44, but there are a lot of other calibers available.
Same as other calibers - target, plink, hunt, self defense, collecting
Power is not determined by the make of the gun, but by the caliber of the cartridge that it fires. The Desert Eagle was made in several calibers. There are revolvers that fire less powerful cartridges, and revolvers that fire more powerful cartridges.
