Some American high schools are similar to the ones shown on TV, but many are not. It depends on what TV show you are looking at and what real high school you are looking at.
Hahaha They are a little bit like that. The TV shows do exaggerate...a lot, but there is some truth there.

For the past 50 years, schools in my area have had a similar schedule to the ones schools have now. We also got days off when the weather was snowy or icy and road conditions were bad. Beyond that, it is hard to say what days off schools got.

There are websites for all schools, I think. I've looked t some, so i know there are ones in Oklahoma.

Not as far as I can tell. Even the ones called Junior Highs look like they are functionally middle schools with only 7th and 8th grades.
Schools in most countries of the western world are very similar. The ones I have visited have been hard to distinguish from each other, except for the language that is spoken.
High schools have lockers because students have many books that they must take to each class, and need to store the ones not currently in use. However, elementary school students often are in one or two classrooms throughout the day and store their books in their assigned desks instead.
