Are Border Collies Better than Rotweilers?

Depends on your lifestyle and personality. Border collies tend to be very active, intelligent dogs which require lots of excersize and mental stimulation. Great if you want to do obedience or agility with your dog, (or work sheep!) and have lots of time, energy and patience. Rotweilers are more placid easy going dogs, requiring less excersize than Border collies. Possibly a little more difficult to train, but can be very affectionate and loyal. However they can be territorial and sometimes overprotective, and need firm handling and consistant boundaries from the start to make them feel secure.

if i had to choose between a border collie and Rottweiler i would probably choose the border collie but there is nothing wrong with a Rottweiler i have a 10 week old border collie and a 13 week old Rottweiler and they are the best of friends they are both very protective over me they are both jumping 40cm and are doing basic tricks eg

sit, roll over, bark on command, Ly down, play dead, jump 40cm, jump into pool, fetched a stick and give it back and bed ( when i say bed they go into there baskets and Ly down) i do not want to sound sexist but if you are a girl go for a border collie and if you are a boy go for Rottweiler they are both exceptionally excellent breeds and why not have both i do!!! so no border collies are not better than rottweilers
