The Bible says nothing about living together before marriage. The act of living together IS marriage in the eyes of God. "Living together", however, has traditionally been condemned by Christians because it carries no commitment, and marriages which began this way have been shown to have over an 80% failure rate. Changing live-in partners is adultery in the eyes of God.
Answer # 1
That statement does not exist as far as I am aware of. What does exist is the definition of that point in which a woman becomes wife to a man?
Exodus 22:16
And if a man entice a maid, that is not betrothed, and he lie with her (sexual act), he shall surely endow her to be his wife. If her father utterly refuse to giver her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
Note: The word money in that verse means silver in the Hebrew
It is understood therefore that if a maid lie with a man she becomes his wife according to the law. Living together without lying together in the act of sex would be difficult for most people. Common sense of the law, indicates that people should not live together unless the man intends on taking the woman to wife... for ever. The law still stands to this very day, only the blood ordinances (sacrifices) were replaced by Christ.
Young Christians need to give this some thought before allowing their passion for one another to overcome them. Now days we observe many young people living together prior to getting married. However, according to biblical text if these two live together, and they lie together, then they are already considered married according to the law.

Actually -- sex outside of marriage is NOT practiced among 'genuine' Christians. For example: Among Jehovah's Witnesses, anyone who practices sex before marriage, or sex outside of marriage, or adultery; is a disfellowshipping offense. We actually PRACTICE disfellowshipping.Sex outside marriage -- is only practiced among 'psuedo' Christians; 'self-proclaimed' Christians; by people who 'call themselves' Christian. Therefore it gives a warped view of what genuine Christianity is all about.
