Answer: Bulldogs can not swim as they have to small legs to keep their large, muscular body afloat
Answer: Actually, my 3 year old, pure-bred, English bulldog swims very well. He loves the water! Craves me throwing sticks for him to swim out and get! While their legs are small the front paws are very wide and until he learned to use the back legs a bit (mostly as rudders but they do paddle as well) he relied soley on his front paws.
English bulldogs are in many cases a product of their environment. If you feed the heck out of them and limit their excercise, they'll go with that and slowly evolve into a peice of furniture. If you get them walking and playing twice a day, they crave activity. With walks being hard on them in the heat, swimming is a godsend. He's wiped for hours after a good swim. Great on the hips, great cardio and makes him squeeky clean too!
I don't know for a fact, but based on what I do know, I doubt it for two reasons:
1) English bulldogs are very short-winded.
2) English bulldogs have very short, stubby legs, making the instinctive "dog paddle" very difficult for them.
Miniature English bulldogs are exactly like regular English bulldogs only a tad bit smaller.
what do bulldogs do
they are the same
As far as i know, no, they are not good swimmers.
Old English bulldogs and french bulldogs do not shed a lot, however please note that like all dogs they do shed, and yes they both get along fairly well with children, with french bulldogs being slightly more social.
English bulldogs neither migrate nor hibernate. They are domesticated animals.
Are fast runners good swimmers
Yes..Excellent swimmers.
Victorian Bulldog (also known as the "Olde English Bulldogge") are usually born naturally, whereas English bulldogs are born by c-section.
Mini English Bulldogs are not a breed. They are just smaller due to smaller parents. If you are going to buy an English Bulldog, don't buy from anyone that has 'mini's because they are not a good breeder and you are just asking for trouble!
