All predecimal British Coins have long since been withdrawn from circulation and demonetised.

The decimal Half (New) Penny was demonetised in 1984.

The larger pre-1990 5 Pence coins were withdrawn from circulation and demonetised in 1991.

The larger pre-1991 10 Pence coins were withdrawn from circulation and demonetised in 1993.

The larger pre-1997 50 Pence coins were withdrawn from circulation and demonetised in 1998.

All other British "Pence" coins are still legal tender.

What is the meaning of obsolete English?

Obsolete English is old English usage that is simply not understood by modern speakers. For example Shakespeare's use of the word damask to mean "of variegated color" is obsolete. It requires a footnote to be understood by the modern reader. Do not confuse obsolete English, which no one understands, with archaic English, for example words like thou and yclept, which no one really uses but every educated speaker understands without the help of an editor.
