I would say that most Ford vehicles are reliable. I've never had any major problems with all of my Ford vehicles. I've owned 2 Powerstroke Diesel work trucks, 3 Explorers, 1 Ranger, and 1 Fusion. They've all been very reliable. My Powerstrokes were a '97 7.3L, and my current one an '07 6.0L. My Explorers were a '97 with the 4.0 V6, an '00 with the 4.6 V8, and my current one an '04 with the 4.0 V6. My Ranger was my highschool vehicle, a '70 model with the V6. My wife's car is the Fusion. It's an '07 with the 3.0L V6 and all-wheel drive. So, I would give Ford vehicles a reliability rating of 4 to 4 1/2 stars out of 5. My '97 Powerstroke - 497,000 miles / My '07 Powerstroke - 60,000 miles / My '97 Explorer - 125,000 miles / My '00 Explorer - 59,000 miles / My '04 Explorer - 90,000 miles / My '07 Fusion - 34,000 miles. I never kept my Explorers long just because I liked the new car smell. (Dumb Me...)
