Many hasidic Jews, in an effort to shelter themselves from assimilation and remain pure, do not attend secular colleges or even speak fluent English. Yet somehow, against all odds, they manage to be extremely succesful in business affairs, and are great entrepenuers. They are not afraid to speak out when people act against the commandments of God and the Torah.

What might be misinterpeted as cowardliness, is the quiet nature of the men and the modesty of the women. Hassidic men are often soft-spoken, in keeping with a scholarly demeanor, modesty and the avoidance of confrontation. This is considered a better policy than brute force.

Hassidic women tend to dress and act more modestly than women of any other form of orthodoxy, in order to reserve their beauty for the husband.
