There are 4 people called John in the New Testament:
-John the son of Zebedee
-John surnamed Mark
John a kinsman of Annas the High priest.
This last "John" is definitely not related to Jesus and can safely be disregarded, but what about the other 3?.

Were James and John - both the sons of Zebedee - related to Jesus ?
(This John was the Apostle; that is, John the evangelist and writer of John's Gospel. )
Yes, they were related.
Salome [see Mar 15:40 KJV] was 'the mother of Zebedee's children' [see Mat 27:55-56 KJV ]. Zebedee's children were James and John [see Matt 4:21 KJV ] . This means Salome was Jesus' mother's sister of John 19:25.
Mat 4:21 KJV And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
That is, Salome was Jesus' Aunt, and sothis would make James and John [that is, the evangelist] cousins of Jesus.

Was John the Baptist related to Jesus?
Mary the mother of Jesus, and Elisabeth the mother of John the Baptist, were cousins:-
Luk 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, ...
Luk 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
Luk 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name wasMary.
Luk 1:28 And the angel ... said, ....
Luk 1:30 ...., Fear not, Mary: ...
Luk 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Luk 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
This means that John the Baptist was a 2nd cousin to Jesus.
(3)
Was John surnamed Mark related to Jesus?
Mark was the cousin of Barnabus:-
Col 4:10 Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas (regarding whom you received commandments; if he comes to you, receive him),
[Or, to put it another way, Barnabus was Mark's uncle.]
Tradition has it that both Mary the mother of Jesus and Barnabus were twins, and that Mary was born first. This means Barnabus was the brother of Mary, and therefore that he was uncle to Mary's child Jesus.
John Mark was the cousin of Barnabus who was the uncle of Jesus, so this means John Mark and Jesus were cousins once removed.

John the Baptist was a prophet who preached about the coming of Jesus as the Messiah, but he was not one of Jesus's disciples. John baptized Jesus and played a crucial role in preparing the way for Jesus's ministry.
no
A:According to Luke's Gospel, Jesus was related to John the Baptist. His mother Mary was the cousin of John's mother Elizabeth. There are several reasons to doubt this, including that John's Gospel says that the Baptist did not even know Jesus.
Actually, St. John the Baptist is only one of the patron Saints of Freemasonry: the other is St. John the Evangelist. Some theorize that they were chosen because their saint's days are very close to the summer (Baptist) and winter (Evangelist) solstices.
John the Evangelist
No. John the Baptist was never one of the apostles. John the Baptist's head was cut off in Mark chapter 6, early in the time of Christ's ministry. The apostle John was still alive, and later wrote the book of Revelation. He died on the Isle of Patmos, where he had been exiled.
John the Baptist (who was actually a second cousin of Jesus') was beheaded.
John the baptist then they are cousins.
No. John the Apostle was one of Jesus's 12 Apostles. Jesus was, however, related to John the Baptist. No Jesus was never related to John the apostle. He was related to John the baptist, as they were both cousins. John the apostle father was named Zebedee, but John the baptists father was a priest called Zechariah.
Zacharias was a Levite and was not related to Jesus, who was from the tribe of Judah. Jesus and John the Baptist were related through Zacharia's wife, Elizabeth and Mary, Jesus' mother.
A:As long ago as the second century, the author of John's Gospel saw a problem in understanding Jesus as divine, yet seeking to be baptised by John the Baptist. He simply omitted the baptism of Jesus from his account of John the Baptist, although anyone familiar with the synoptic gospels would assume that Jesus was baptised. The same problem that the evangelist saw is now a problem for some Christians today.
No, John the Baptist did.
