For junctional escape rhythm, the underlying cause should be identified and treated. If symptoms are present or if the heart rate is significantly slow, consultation with a healthcare provider is recommended. Management may involve addressing any underlying electrolyte imbalances, medication adjustments, or in severe cases, a pacemaker may be considered.
The sinoatrial node is commonly referred to as the pacemake of the heart. Located in the atrium, the SA node usually "fires" 60 to 100 times a minute which induces the heart to beat. Heart rhythms that start from this node are known as sinus rhythms. The heart also has a atrioventricular pacemaker that "fires" at 40 to 60 beats per minute. If the sinoatrial node fails to function, the AV node will begin to work. Heart rhythms that are generated from this node are known as junctional rhythms. Finally, as a last resort, there is a ventricular pacemaker. This "fires" at a rate of 20 to 40. These rhythms are described as idioventricular or "escape" rhythms. People whit these heart rhythms most likely will be experiencing severe signs and symptoms of poor perfusion.
The P wave is the first wave in an ECG complex, and it results from the atria depolarizing. It may not be present in arrhythmias where the atria do not necessarily depolarize, such as junctional or ventricular escape rhythms, and at times when the atria are depolarizing abnormally this will be reflected in the P wave's replacement by abnormal waves, such as the low-amplitude "squiggle" seen in atrial fibrillation, or the "sawtooth" pattern seen in atrial flutter.
Most did not escape. They would have had to escape for the duration for it to be considered sucessful.

It was dubbed a "good prison" because of its reputation of being escape proof.
It was considered escape proof because it was in the middle of the San Francisco bay. It was thought that if anyone did escape the prison, it would be impossible to swim all the way to the mainland. The only two prisoners to actually get off the island are claimed to have drowned.
