On a British site for rare/extinct breeds of Britannic livestock there is no mention of the Lundy horse. There was a breed society established for the Lundy Pony in 1984. They are a cross between New Forrest ponies and a Welsh Mountain stallion that were imported to Lundy Island in 1928.

The Lundy Pony Preservation Society has a small herd in Bristol England so there is an interest in protecting the breed, however they are not a different

species than other horses so "protected status" by the protected/endangered wildlife criteria is probably not possible.
