There are several snow blowers on the market that have similar features as the MTD Snowblower system. These are the Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines and Poulan to name a few.

Eska made Eska snowblowers. Eska was also a manufacturer of outboard marine engines. The Talley Co. was their parent company
They did not they bought Murray and have since closed it down. Most all B & S stuff is now made in China.

MTD is the parent company of Cub Cadet and produces a range of outdoor power equipment, including snowblowers. Some models may also use engines from other manufacturers, such as Honda or Briggs & Stratton, depending on the specific model and year. They are made by Ryobi which was briefly bought by MTD and made trimmers with several of the MTD-owned brands. Now I believe it is still partially MTD-owned, but is a separate entity.
