This is a matter of opinion. They both have good things going for them, and which is better for you depends on what you are looking for in a horse.
Usually yes
quarter horses have been clocked at 55mph (88.5k) in the quarter mile.
If we contrast horses with Giant Pandas the examination reveals that Giant Pandas are much better at eating bamboo than are horses. Horses are better at running than Giant Pandas. Horses are better for petting than a Giant Panda because they have been domesticated. Pandas are better than horses for consistency of color and pattern. Horses are better than Pandas because they come in a LOT more colors. Horses are better than Pandas because there are more of them.Pandas are better than horses because they are rare and that makes them unique. Both animals are better in their own way. More specific criteria would make a determination of which was "better" would be helpful.
The American Quarter Horse, or Quarter Horse, is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances. Its name is derived from its ability to outrun other horse breeds in races of a quarter mile or less; some have been clocked at speeds up to 55 mph!
gaited horses have a certain way they move their feet (the gait) that usually makes the ride extremely smooth and its a lot faster than the quarter horses gait, they also have a lot of endurance and can go long distances at faster speeds than a QH

Quarter horses generally eat what any other horse would but if you are considering on working it more than usual you may consider putting extra vitamins or fish oil in his/her feed.
Definiteley. Thoroughbred are the fastest; they can run 45 mph. Actually, Quarter Horses are the fastest for a quarter of a mile, but then the Thoroughbreds have more endurance. Ponies are generally slower. Young horses are generally faster than older ones. Andalusiangirl
Quarter horses can come in any color. Though every horse has a differant conformation, most quarter horses are big bodied horses. They tend to have large butts, broad shoulders, large cheeks, and are quite stocky. They stand around 15 hands, but can be much taller or smaller than that. Most quarter horses are very sensible, calm, and easy-going. They are pretty much the opposite of most thoroughbreds, lol.
Quarter Horses have some very distictive characteristics. The have muscular bodies, espescially the hind-quarters and chest. Strong neck and shoulders and usually a nice head and soft eye. No surprise there are more Quarter Horses in the world than any other breed.
