Best Answer

No. There is a variation in style in the registration numbers for cars. Those in Britain have one letter that is separated from the other letters by numbers in between. That does not happen with registrations in Northern Ireland, which has a group of letters together and a group of numbers together.

Is Ireland in Britain?

No. Ireland is a republic which gained its indenpendancy from the British in 1922. Britain, or Great Britain as it is sometimes called, is an island consisting of England, Scotland and Wales. Ireland is a separate island to the west of it. The island of Ireland is split into the Republic of Ireland (also known as Éire) and Northern Ireland.Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom (or to give it its full name: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland). This is not the same as Britain, and even the name indicates this by saying "Great Britain and Northern Ireland". It clearly indicates that they are separate. So Northern Ireland and the rest of Ireland are not part of Britain. Britain ruled all of Ireland, but Ireland was never part of Britain, being a separate island.

Ireland is located where of Great Britain?

No part of Ireland is in Great Britain. They are two separate islands. Great Britain consists of England, Scotland and Wales. The United Kingdom, includes the island of Great Britain and also Northern Ireland, which is a part of the island of Ireland. Great Britain and the United Kingdom are not the same, which can cause confusion.

Is Ireland governed by Great Britain or the UK?

The island of Ireland has on it the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Republic of Ireland is independent and governs itself. Northern Ireland is part of and governed by the United Kingdom and has a local devolved government too. Great Britain refers to the island containing England, Scotland and Wales. The United Kingdom refers to Great Britain and Northern Ireland, so they are not the same thing.

Why is Northern Ireland part of the UK if it is not joint?

You are confusing Britain with the United Kingdom, which are not the same things. Britain is an island that consists of England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland is not part of Britain. It is on the island of Ireland. It is part of the United Kingdom though, which consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Between 1801 and 1922, all of the island of Ireland was part of the United Kingdom. Then most of Ireland became independent and the part that then became known as Northern Ireland stayed part of the United Kingdom.

Yes, Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland both are members of the European Union. note from a pedant Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - the others being England, Wales and Scotland. It is the United Kingdom which is a member of the European Union, not Northern Ireland in its own right.
