I'm not an expert, but as far as I'm aware Sikhs are allowed to eat meat. I think you might be thinking about the Langar - the communal kitchen and meal at the gurdwara. In which case, everyone is welcome, even non-Sikhs. The idea of the Langar (name of kitchen and meal) is that everyone is equal so all can come and eat a free meal together. It is traditional for eaters to sit on the floor (a symbol of humility and equality) and the meal is vegetarian so that vegetarians (such as Hindus) can eat the same meal too.
