Tablet PCs are sometimes just the screen and thus smaller than your normal laptop. Some laptops have a screen that can be turned around and locked in place over the keyboard to function in much the same way, however. Notebooks are mostly synonymous with laptops, though they were once a lighter, thinner class of laptop before the rest of the market caught up and there was much less of a distinction.
