Before Steve Leonard became a vampaneze, he had a child with Daren's sister. Steve ten bloods this child, making him half-vampaneze. Darren finds out so goes to see his sister, so he can "re-blood" the son and make him half-vampire instead. Just after this, however, his sister and nephew are whisked away, he goes to fight Steve and dies, so not exactly a happy ending
