(Devoid of the rest of the Birth Chart(s)) these two don't seem to have a lot in common. After all, Virgo is an Earth sign and Aquarius is an Air sign. Conventional Astrology ( the very basic kind) likes you to believe that these two signs (and elements) will clash with each other, just like say stripes and paisley might. Virgo is humble, realistic, introverted, sensitive, and "down-to-Earth", while Aquarius is said to extroverted, abstract in thinking, idealistic, insensitive to others feelings, and "aloof".

But let's be Virgo in nature for just one second (by that, I mean "realistic") and think about it. There are an infinite amount of people on this Earth, and I assure you there are Virgo/Aquarius relationships "out there" and they are everywhere. Along with the Virgo/Aries, Virgo/Leo, Virgo/Libra, Virgo/Sagittarius, and the Virgo/Gemini relationships.... I'm going to go against the grain here and say that they can be quite beneficial to each other. These two really can balance each other out. I suppose my answer is "Yes", they "can" be compatible, but not always "are".

But then again, we are just talking about "Sun" signs. The truth is (anyone *serious* about Astrology will know this) there is a whole Birth Chart that includes Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Ascendant + some extras like North Node, Chiron, and Lilith signs. Astrology is really complex.....just like the human mind is.

(ON A SIMPLE "SUN SIGN" BASIS):

Virgo and Aquarius are alike in the way that they are both very intelligent beings (like Gemini and Capricorn are) . Virgo's ruling planet is Mercury and Aquarius's ruling planet is Uranus, which is considered to be a higher octave of Mercury. These two can and probably will have very mentally stimulating conversations ranging from daily chores/rituals (which Aquarius usually despises, but NEEDS) all the way to UFOs and Alternate Universes (which can be a bit "out there" for Virgo, but still interests them anyways). They both are usually very interested in the environment as well as Humanitarian causes (Aquarius on a larger scale ie.- starting their own charity or bringing awareness to a Worldwide cause, while Virgo is happy with something smaller in scale and simple ie.- recycling or adopting a pet). Virgo is intrigued by Aquarius's abstract mind, which brings about Virgo's sense of "Higher Thinking''. Aquarius is attracted to Virgo's simplicity which makes Aquarius realize that not everything has to be abstract and grand to be liked. Somethings are simply "simple", and that very simplicity can be beautiful, which Aquarius is not always comfortable with. This is exactly where Virgo comes in....

I'm not saying these two don't have their differences because they definitely do. They are basically opposites when it comes to their personalities, but that's probably what will attract them in the first place. Of course, this might be one of those pairings where they're better off being "just friends" as opposed to being lovers. But, then again the latter might just work just as well. Their differences can bring about an intensity that can only be matched by, say a Scorpio/Aquarius or Taurus/Aquarius match.

Hey! If you like someone, you like them.....regardless of their "sign", right?

So, don't let the whole "Earth only goes well with other Earth signs and Water signs" thing deter you from having a relationship with someone you like or LOVE!

Aquarius is ruled by Saturn; and Virgo is ruled by Mercury. Both these planets viz. the Saturn and Mercury are friendly to each other. Thus, they are usually compatible to each other.

However, appropriate compatibility between two persons can only be judged via combined analysis of horoscopes of both persons. Using single planetary placement to judge the compatibility may not yield proper and useful results.
