The answer is yes and no.

Alabama's legislature provides a pre-Roe v. Wade statewide ban on all abortions which remains on the books.

Federal mandate has deemed the law unconstitutional and therefore; unenforceable.

For the moment, abortions are performed in the state under very restrictive guidelines (24-hour waiting period, required counseling on "alternatives" before a procedure and only up to 12 weeks) but if Roe v. Wade were overturned, or if the fed were to defer to State's rights, abortion would immediately become a class B felony for both practitioner and patient.

So basically, while it is technically Illegal already, the state is not permitted under federal law to completely prevent a woman from having one before 12 weeks.
