There are 2 One Dollar silver coins dated 1921 a Morgan Dollar that is very common and a Peace Dollar that is not so common. We need to know which on you have. A good way to tell the two apart is one the back of the Peace Dollar under the eagle is the word Peace.

There is no 1921 barber silver dollar, it is either a peace dollar (eagle perched on a rock engraved PEACE on the reverse) or a Morgan dollar (Eagle with gothic lettering above it saying "In God we Trust" on the reverse)
The Morgan silver dollar was not produced in the United States after 1921, and the Peace Dollar was only produced until 1935. In fact, I don't believe that there were any coins produced in the world in 1939 with the denomination of One Dollar.
