no.
If you are unsure if you motor is an interference motor, call a parts store... have them look up the timing belt and look at the application description. if it's for an interference motor, it will generally say "interference" in the description.
I'm not sure if that is a 100% way to know, but from my time working for CSK it was a pretty reliable way to check. at least for Hondas.
All Honda automobile engines are interference engines up through 2002 except the 2002 CRV which has a chain. In 2003 the 4 cylinder Accord received a chain but the V6 Accord still has a cam belt and is an interference engine. The 1.7 liter Civic engine is still belt driven and is interference. Your owners manual will tell you for sure.
All Honda 4 cylinder engines up to 2002 are interference engines.
The correct term is interference engine. All Honda vehicles built up to 2002 are interference engines. All V6 engines are interference engines no matter the year. Starting in 2003 & up the Accord 4 cylinder is NOT an interference engine. Starting in 2005 & up the 4 cylinder Civic is NOT and interference engine.
Yes it is. All Honda engines prior to 2001 are interference engines.

No, all 1997 Honda engines are interference engines. The cam belt must be replaced every 105,000 miles. If the belt breaks you will have serious engine damage. 2003 and up Honda four-cylinder engines are not interference engines but the V-6 still is.
The vast majority are iinterferance engines, but not all. You need to be more specific.
All Accords up to 2002 have a timing belt and they are all interference engines. From 2003 & up the 4 cylinder has a timing chain that requires no maintenance. All V6 Accords have a timing belt and they are interference engines.
Not all 4 cylinder engines are interference. When the timing belt breaks in an interference engine the valves can cause serious damage.
Honda makes all their own engines.
