this is because the body needs to keep on growing hence the chemical processes that result to growth should keep reacting to support metabolism and life, incase we say the chemical reactions are reversed, then it would mean that we grow back to young from old age which is totally impossible....For processes like respiration and excretion in the body, main source of energy which is food must be broken down to give out energy, in case we say the energy could be reversed back to food and vomited out then that would mean no energy to support life hence automatic death. what do you think??

Chemical reactions are only reversible when conditions allow it. Our boby's biggest challenge is maintaining homeostasis, which involves maintaining the perfect conditions for reactions to move only in the direction in which our body wants it to move.

Added:

Some chemical reactions in the body are reversible, while others are not.

There are two kinds of metabolic reactions (this is 'in the body'):

  1. Anabolic reactions:

The set of metabolic reactions that construct molecules from smaller units. These reactions require energy. One way of categorizing metabolic processes, whether at the cellular, organ or organism level is as 'anabolic' or as 'catabolic', which is the opposite. Anabolism is powered by catabolism, where large molecules are broken down into smaller parts and then used up in respiration. Many anabolic processes are powered by adenosine triphosphate (ATP needed)

  2. Catabolic reactions:

The set of metabolics that break down molecules into smaller units and release energy. In catabolism, large molecules such as polysaccharides, lipids, nucleic acids and proteins are broken down into smaller units such as monosaccharides from starch, fatty acids, nucleotides, and amino acids, respectively (ATP, the energy battery, is formed).

This is all valid for the internal energy usage and backup. On the whole body we need energy from outside sources and can not store external energy (eg. from the sun) in large energy rich molecules like starch or fat as plants can do from carbon ioxide and water (photosynthesis).

The breakdown of those (energy rich) molecules

to carbon ioxide and water (respiration) is

not reversible in the body.

Chemical change can be reversible. Many chemical changes are not but some, typically where here is an equilibrium between the reactants and the products, can be reversed.

Are chemical changes irreversible If yes then what about the chemical reactions that are reversible Don't we say that all chemical reactions are chemical changes?

some chemical changes can be reversed but they are hard to reverse usually

Is lighting a firework irreversible and why?

yes, because it is a chemical reaction (chemical reactions are irreversible).

Which are more in nature reversible or irreversible chemical reactions?

irreversible

What is a kind of chemical change?

Burning wood is a chemical change because the chemical makeup changes through the addition of heat. wood + heat = ash and other gases Pretty much when one substance changes into another substance and the change is irreversible, it is a chemical change.

What are the different changes around us?

Changes occur everywhere, every moment around us. Everything in the world is subject to change. There are five types of changes. 1. Chemical and physical changes. 2. Reversible and irreversible changes. 3. Desirable and undesirable changes. 4. Periodic and non-periodic changes. 5. Slow and fast changes. Chemical changes: That change the chemical composition of the material. Physical change: That are temporary and do not change the chemical composition of the material. They change only the state, colour, and texture. Reversible chages: They can be reversed. Irreversible changes: They cannot be reversed. Desirable changes: Which are desired Undeirable changes: Which are'nt desired. Periodic changes: Which happen after a regular intervals. Non-periodic changes: Which happen irregular of any specific interval time. Slow changs: Which take a long time to occur. Fast changes: Which happen quickly. -Param Gupta, Std. 6, Victorious Kidss Educares

Why are all irreversible changes are chemical changes?

Irreversible changes are changes which can not be turned back yo normal. These are chemical changes because the particles of the material have changed completely.

Is rusting a chemical or physical property?

Rusting is a chemical property because it is irreversible. It changes the identity of the substance.

Is a fire a physical or chemical change?

A fire is a chemical change due to the irreversible changes that happen.

Is the reaction reversible?

chemical reactions are irreversible but physical changes are reversible

Yes because it is a chemical reaction and these reactions are irreversible

When water turns into steam is it a chemical change?

no, physical. The steam can return to water if cooled. Chemical changes are irreversible.

Can a substance produced during a physical change easily change back?

Yes. Chemical changes are irreversible, but physical changes can easily be changed back

Is frying an egg a physical or chemical change?

Frying an egg is a chemical change. A chemical change is when the chemical properties change and when color changes, it is irreversible and obviously, you cannot change a fried egg back to a raw egg. The egg changes color and the substance is not the same.
