The term "Fire" is often used to denote brightness or glory. If you had the chance to see an angel they would not appear as "Flame On" in the XMen, but as a glorious bright figure, oh and without any wings.

Christianity identifies the seraphim of Isaiah 6:2, 6 as a form of angel, although Isaiah does not seem to have done so. Supposedly, seraphim are creatures of fire.

Scholars have established that the origins of the seraphim lie in the black-necked cobra, which applies its poison not only by biting but also by spitting. Archaeologists have found mythological artefacts of these cobras represented with wings, as well as human hands and feet. The Hebrew name for both the actual cobra and the mythological variant with wings is śārāf ('the one that burns').

Some are, but not physical fire. There are ten kinds of angels, some of which are spiritual fire, while others have different spiritual essences.
