They live at Watuppa Wampanoag Reservation on Martha's Vineyard and in small groups at Gay Head, New Bedford, Herring Pond, Fall River and elsewhere in Massachusetts.
The Wampanoag native language (Natick) has been extinct for more than 100 years but there are now efforts to revive it, led mainly by Jessie Little Doe Bird.
