There is a danger that the male will eat the kits, this is one good reason why the male should not be kept with the female once she is pregnant and kindling.
Until the kits have been weaned and are leaving their mother the father should be kept away!

∙ 15y agoBaby rabbits are never eaten by their father or any other male rabbit. In case you didn't know, a rabbit is an herbivore, which means they eat plants, not animals. Seeing as how rabbits aren't plants, no male rabbit would ever eat a baby rabbit.
Actually that is wrong a male will eat the babies if he does not want them in the cage. A mother will also kill another rabbit in the cage if she is pregnant and ready for birth and you do not have nesting supplies in the cage with her. My mom rabbit killed one of my younger Lionhead rabbits for it's fur to make a nest for it's new litter!
