like any creature with a mouth and claws, they can and will fight if they have to. they have VERY sharp claws and VERY strong jaws and a muscular tail. though beardies are usually quite docile, you don't want to wake them when they are sleeping or surprise them when they are eating. due to their spikes that are more dangerous when they are startled (when startled, beardies flatten their stomachs, causing the spikes that line the edges to stick out, and trust me, they are sharp!) you want to make sure they see you before making physical contact. they can fight well but not unless you give them a reason. (usually)
