Bench seats are way more common in trucks. There is more room inside the car and trucks are made for more people to be sitting down so benches often are built in them.
Bench seats have mostly been replaced with bucket seats, but a few vehicles are still available with the older and more traditional bench seat. Trucks and larger SUVs are usually found to have this option.
Any vehicles that do not have 'bucket-style' seats are said to have 'bench' seats. That covers w-a-y- too many brands and makes to list here.
yes quite a few still use the bench seats. Such as the dodge charger or the Chevy corvet alot of the sports cars still use the bench seats. If you look at ford mustang many of them come with bench seats.

I do not believe there are any cars made in the United States that have a bench seat option any more. It is a safety thing.
Many utes and pick up trucks offer a bench seat. The only car I know of that offers a bench seat as a $195 option is the 2012 Chevy Impala LS or LT. The 2011 Models available with a bench seat are Cadillac DTS, Lincoln Town Car, and the Buick Lucerne.
Toyota Avalon, Ford Crown Victoria, & Mercury Gran Marquis all had bench seats. The Chevy Impala had the bench seat as an option so it may be hard to find one. There were some Mercedes and BMW luxury cars with a bench seat but again probably hard to find. Ford Crown Vic will be the easiest to find and they are dependable cars.
No 2014 car sold in the U.S. will offer front bench seats. The 2013 Chevy Impala was the last car to offer that option but it was discontinued in 2014.

Older cars had seating for three in the front in the form of a bench seat. I cannot think of a specific car that had three single seats in the front.
trucks were not invented, rather, people removed the back seats from their cars and replaced them with wooden boxlike structures to carry goods, manufacturers began selling gars with seats in the front and an exposed chassis in the back to accommodate for this
