Hi
My family has a 5 year old border collie, and we have 2 cats and another dog.
He is an amazing dog with a great and fun personality. We got him when our kids were young and he did great from the beginning.
Make sure you have plenty of room for him to run around because all collies need to run and have space.
they can be fine as long as they have been taught to behave nicely with children. if it is a puppy they may bite but you need to teach them not to.
i have a border collie at home 9well its cross border collie and cross golden retriever!) and i am 10 and my brother is 9. he is great with children that age and much older children too.
If you are wondering about younger ones than they are great with them because they might bark and jump around the small child but it will only do that because it is excited and wants someone to stroke it so buy one if you can i recommend them
yes border collies are great with kids, they love to have tons of squeaky toys and tennis balls.
Yes; just make sure the little kids don't yank or pull the hair.
Some breeds are better, like labs, but border collies are good dogs around children.
Border collies are very good with young children, particularly if they are raised along with them. They become very protective of those they live with, and they can be incredibly loyal.
It depends on how old the children are
Golden Retrievers are usually great with kids, and Border Collies are better with slightly older kids. It all depends on how the dog was raised when it was younger.
Border collies are a good breed for a family with children. This breed of dog is very loyal and very nice. They will be very gentile with kids, even small kids.
That is what they were bred to do.
i love border Collie's ARE GREAT FOR AGILITY ! its like they are meant for agility! border collies will do excellent in trials, why? because they are fast, agile, and listen very very good
yes
Yes. If you train them well they are great.
I have 3 border collies they are used because they are built for it!!!! When there born they know about sheep no one teaches them its just there but you do need to train them to sit etc! they are amaizing animals and good natured
No not all border collies are hyper. it depends how you raise them. if they get no exersize and get over fed your border collie will be lazy. if you take your collie for walks about 4-7 times a week and keep him on a good diet your border collie will be fit and hyper, but they wont be over hyper even fit border collies can be lazy sometimes.
You need to consider the temperment of the dog with the personality of your daughter. If you feel they are a good match then go for it. Do research on border collies and see what their personality is like. Ask border collies owners. Anyway good luck on the job hunt.
Border collies are taller than Basset hounds, but Bassetts are a good deal heavier, running from about 50 - 65 lbs. A large male Border collie will be about 45 lbs.
Border Collies are bred for working ability, not for type. That means, they do not selectively breed for sizes, color, coat, etc. - good Border Collie breeders breed the exceptional working dogs, no matter what size shape or color they are. I know purebred Border Collies that are 20 lbs, and others that are 60 lbs.
Border Collies are probably the best. (They are the smartest dog)
German Shepherd
They are good for farms but they can be used for family pets, but you have to have a lot of space for it to run
