Jesus raised more than a few eyebrows when he hung with tax collectors, criminals, and other undesirables and sinners. Even one of his own diciples asked him why he would do this. The point is still as valid today as it was then. Christ replied that He associated with these types of people because they were the ones that needed him the most. What good would there have been for him to only associate with pious, Godly people. They were already saved by their faith. He truly was a 'fisher of men'. He cast his 'net' of words and reaped believers, which was what he was supposed to do.
